Inspired by the 1982 film Blade Runner , Daniel Avakian’s Tears in the Rain collection incorporates his signature bespoke tailoring and couture pieces, mixed with ’90s Sydney graffiti art, carried by a strong colour palette of greens, navy, black and pops of red. Many garments from the collection featured as digital fashion in the store.

Thirty-two years after metaphorically gate-crashing Savile Row with a rebellious spirit and boundary-pushing approach to tailoring, renowned luxury menswear label Richard James will mark the opening with a VIP event on 29th February. The basement will contain the house’s state-of-the-art workshop space.

Standard Architecture collaborated with the Paul Smith design team to reimagine the 4,740-square-foot (440 square metres) store on Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood. Long brass rails are used to present tailoring Partitions clad in dappled beige stone frame these zones, but don't reach the exposed timber ceiling, to retain the sense of openness.
