Rebranding a children’s football charity with “vibrancy and punch”

The identity for Football Beyond Borders (FBB), a UK charity that educates young people through sport, has been updated by design studio Alphabet. While the logo remains the same, the graphic and visual system — including typography, colour palette and set of icons — have been updated. The charity was established in 2012, following the London riots, as a way to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through organised football games.

Southend Borough Council unveils designs for new pier trains

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has unveiled the proposed replacement designs for the town’s iconic pier trains. Extending 1.34 miles into the Thames Estuary, Southend’s pier is the longest in the world and since 1890, it has been serviced by a railway system. The last update to the line occurred in 1986, when two diesel trains designed by light-transport manufacturers Severn Lamb took over operations.
