A typeface has been created for the Welsh language which celebrate the country’s heritage. The fonts have been designed by the Cardiff office of design studio Smörgåsbord, in collaboration with the Colophon Foundry. Graphic designer Joseph Burrin also consulted. The original Sans typeface The three fonts that make up the Cymru Wales typeface are Cymru Wales Sans (originally created in 2017), Cymru Wales Serif and Cymru Sans Transport, which is used for Transport for Wales (TfW).

Just seven days after his first Budget statement, chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a host of new measures to further protect Britain’s businesses against the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Last week’s Budget had already promised a fiscal stimulus of £30 billion to combat the ongoing crisis – but in a press conference yesterday Sunak announced additional provisions would be made available to businesses, to the tune of £330 billion.
