Back in 2012, the London Borough of Camden turned international heads with its newly commissioned public benches. With slanted edges, no crevices or hiding places and impermeable surface, the “Camden Bench” – as it would come to be known – was lauded as a great example of public furniture. It won awards from the Design Council and Keep Britain Tidy and was also given PAS68 approval from the Home Office for its counter terrorism uses.

People know of the Dutch capital’s bikes (it has 800km of bike lanes) and its central canal, but what do you do once the former ends up in the latter? Amsterdam-based creative consultancy SuperHeroes worked with Dutch gin company, V2C to put the canal-bound bikes — which total almost 15,000 per year — to good use.

YO! has been overhauled by consultancy Zag, in an attempt to “reposition the brand within an increasingly competitive market” The brand update includes the assets such as menu design, packaging and restaurant interiors, as well as a range of new dining experiences. Aran Potkin, Zag’s managing partner, says that despite YO! being an “iconic” brand, it had “lost its sense of food and flavour, as well as the distinctive assets to be uniquely identifiable.”
“For me, this illustrates the importance of brand consistency. Inclusivity is not a quick fix; it requires consistency and continuous alignment of packaging design, product and marketing. Brands that dare to take a stand and bring bold stories to life will have a better chance of building strong relationships with a diverse group of costumers, and as a result, lead the way to sustainable growth.
