Now in its tenth year, the FutureBrand Index analyses the brand strengths of the world’s most valuable companies. This year’s report, released this week, looks not only at what’s happening now, but what’s changed – and what hasn’t – since the project started in 2014. Here are some insights that jumped out to us. 1.
A workforce revolution is imminent with the mainstreaming of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and Amazon is ushering in a new era for its workforce with the introduction of robotics. At its third annual Amazon Delivering the Future event in Nashville, Tennessee, the tech giant unveiled its latest innovations, including the next-generation fulfilment centre in Louisiana that is powered by advanced AI and 10 times more robotics.
White Stuff, the British fashion and lifestyle retailer, will be opening in London Gatwick’s North Terminal in late November. The opening will be the brand’s first airport store and follows a series of store openings and new concessions to bring the brand to more customers across the UK. The 1044sq.ft store has been specifically designed with travel in mind and features White Stuff’s new mobile payment system, so instead of a standard till customers can pay from anywhere in the shop.
This week, Mecca revealed that its Bourke Street flagship in Melbourne, its biggest store yet, will open its doors in early 2025. The three-level store will cover 4000sqm of prime CBD real estate, making it one of the biggest beauty destinations in the world. Evolve Estates , part of commercial property and investment collective M Core, has signed two new tenants at the Penicuik Centre in Scotland. Japan’s Fast Retailing, owner of clothing brands Uniqlo and GU, booked its third consecutive year of record earnings on Thursday, boosted by widened profit margins in its international segments. Operating profit rose 31 per cent to US$3.35 billion in the 12 months through August from $2.55 billion a year earlier, the apparel maker said in a statement.
