Elevated Australian accessories brand Helen Kaminski is marking the start of a new design era with the opening of its reimagined flagship store in Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building (QVB) on August 17. The new store design delivers a textural and sensory experience for customers.
Founded by artistic woodworker, Jordi Verbaan, and his partner, conceptual artist Solange Frankfort, the design duo has made a name for themselves with their minimalist language and use of quality materials. The limited edition collection by Rotterdam-based Studio Verbaan combines minimalistic shapes and traditional craft.
The 2,500 sq ft store and workspace located on Clifford Street, directly opposite the brand’s Savile Row store, has been reimagined as a three-storey temple to beautifully crafted ready-to-wear and bespoke tailoring. The basement will contain the house’s state-of-the-art workshop space.
The entry program features wall with a rough texture "Upon entering, you find yourself in our version of a modernist grotto," said Apparatus. It has an installation featuring multiple of Appratatus' iconic Cloud chandeliers that give the space an airiness when contrasted with the earthy textures of the first.
