Former Steinhoff leader found dead after massive fine levied

Jooste, aged 63, was charged for making false and misleading Steinhoff’s financial statements between 2014 and 2017, according to the Australian Financial Review (AFR). In Australia and New Zealand it owned the Fantastic Furniture and Freedom retail chains. Previously, he was also fined $1.6 million for insider trading.

Reliance, Apollo lodge US$6 billion bid for Boots business
