The Gree companies sold over two million dehumidifiers in the United States between 2007 and 2013, but learned in late 2012 that the dehumidifiers could overheat and catch fire. The defendants were a Chinese appliance manufacturer (Gree Electric Appliances Inc. and Gree USA Inc.). On appeal, however, the CPSC reversed the ALJ’s determination.
