Pierre Yovanovitch opens design gallery in New York City penthouse

French designer Pierre Yovanovitch has opened his first US showroom and gallery in Manhattan's Chelsea neighbourhood, displaying over 80 pieces from his own furniture brand. Throughout, exposed ceiling joists and ductwork are paired with dark wood flooring and whitewashed brick, typical of a New York loft space.

Gridded steel facade evokes bamboo forest at Hermès store in Tokyo

The 488-square-metre store is the first freestanding Hermès outlet in Tokyo since the brand opened its Ginza emporium in 2001, which was also designed by RDAI. As the store could have traditional window displays RDAI chose to wrap the building's base in a geometric screen made from pieces of copper-coloured stainless steel.

Paritzki & Liani Architects mixes architecture and geology in Grifo210 boutique

Paritzki & Liani Architects has created a minimal interior for a boutique on the Italian island of Ischia, filled with references to local architecture and volcanic geology. Grifo210's interior is divided up into three bays, framed by the arched doorway and ceilings. Coloured display stands are created from pigmented concrete.

Our idea was to mark our presence at d3 (we are here in Dubai since 2001, but we just moved there this year) with a cultural initiative. The results of all the DIDI students research will be displayed in Dubai in March 2024. The prototypes will be displayed also in Milan, during the Milan Design Week, in April 2024.
