Woolworths profit falls 20.6 per cent amid strikes, changing consumer habits

Merchants focus on functionality, reliability and speed of payment providers

Research from inclusive payments platform, Ecommpay, has found that merchants place more value on the practical elements of a payment provision than on a personal recommendation or even cost. Over half (57%) of merchant respondents selected functionality as one of their top three criteria when choosing a payment provider. This was followed by 53% choosing reliability and 51% speed.

Lovisa’s 43 net new store openings pull net profit up

The jewellery and accessories retailer’s profit grew 6.5 per cent to $56.9 million as revenue climbed 8.8 per cent to $405.9 million and comparable store sales rose 0.1 per cent. Scentre Group’s net operating income up on more customer visits

Westfield operator Scentre Group recorded higher net operating income on the back of more customer visits last year. The company’s net operating income grew 4 per cent to $2.03 billion while funds from operations (FFO) rose 3.5 per cent to $1.13 billion.
